PST is UTC-8 and PDT is UTC-7. Most Pacific US locations move between them.
PT follows the local rule
PT is the safest general label for a schedule intended to stay at the same West Coast wall-clock time.
PST is fixed
Use PST for an explicitly UTC-8 event, not as a year-round synonym for Los Angeles time.
